Poly-Si, or multicrystalline, panels, are most common in the solar energy industry. The reason being is the advantageous performance vs price cost compared to monocrystalline panels.

Due to the lower cost of ownership and overall durability when exposed to environmental factors, poly panels have become the choice for solutions where cost is an inhibiting factor. Also, the blue-ish nature of such panels can either make or break consumer decisions based on aesthetic values alone. The less complex manufacturing process combined with being cheaper than monocrystalline panels, in addition to having higher efficiency levels than thin-film modules makes this another attracting feature to the world market.
